Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced .NET Technical Lead to lead the modernization and cloud transformation of an existing enterprise application. The candidate will be responsible for driving technical solutions across .NET Framework migration, Azure cloud migration, API refactoring, containerization, database optimization, UI modernization, batch-to-event-driven transformation, and production rollout support.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on technical expertise along with the ability to lead developers, collaborate with architects and business stakeholders, and drive modernization initiatives from assessment through production implementation.

Technical Skills

Mandatory

• Strong experience in C# and .NET / .NET Framework.
• Hands-on experience with ASP.NET Core / Web API.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and microservices architecture.
• Experience migrating .NET Framework applications to modern .NET.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and containerization.
• Strong SQL/database development and performance optimization experience.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps.
• Strong understanding of application security, authentication, and authorization.
• Experience with production deployment and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of software design principles and architecture patterns.

Good to Have

• Experience with AKS / Kubernetes.
• Experience with Azure Service Bus / Event Grid / Event Hubs.
• Experience with Kafka.
• Experience with Angular / React.

• Experience with Azure Functions.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform/Bicep.
• Experience with Application Insights and Azure Monitor.
• Experience with legacy application modernization and technical debt reduction.
• Experience with performance engineering and load testing.

Architecture & Design Responsibilities

The Technical Lead will be expected to:  

• Analyze the existing application architecture and identify modernization opportunities.
• Define target-state architecture for cloud migration.
• Create technical design documents and architecture diagrams.
• Evaluate build vs. refactor vs. re-engineer options.
• Define integration and event-driven architecture patterns.
• Establish coding, API, logging, exception-handling, and deployment standards.
• Conduct technical design and code reviews.
• Identify technical risks and provide mitigation strategies.

Leadership Responsibilities           

• Lead a team of .NET developers and provide technical direction.
• Break down requirements into technical tasks and assign work to team members.
• Mentor developers and promote engineering best practices.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Work closely with Solution Architects, Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA, DevOps, DBA, and infrastructure teams.
• Track technical progress, dependencies, risks, and blockers.
• Provide technical estimates and contribute to project planning.
• Communicate technical challenges and progress effectively to stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

• Large-scale legacy application modernization.
• .NET Framework → modern .NET migration.
• On-premises → Azure migration.
• Monolith → modular/microservices architecture.
• Batch processing → event-driven architecture.
• API modernization and performance optimization.
• Containerization and Kubernetes.
• Enterprise application production migration and stabilization.

Education   

Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
